NEW HOUSE CONSTRUCTION
Pre-Design Assessment
Will your next project be conventional construction and barely meet the Building Code? Or will your next project standout with the True Luxury© of a Passive House (Step 5 for Part 9 & Step 4 for Part 3 buildings in the BC Energy Step Code)? If it’s the latter, Akira Living is your trusted source to realize your projects full potential.
The Pre-Design Assessment is most beneficial from a projects earliest conception. The Pre-Design Assessment is recommended before building enclosure assemblies and critical components are chosen or fixed. The freedom to implement intelligent design choices early may save costly revisions to the existing architectural plans. Akira Living’s Pre-Design Assessment service includes the following:
- A review of any existing architectural drawings to review floor plan layouts and verify any potential barriers from implementing an Akira Living super-insulated building enclosure.
- One meeting with the design team and/or builders to present the Passive House Standard and discuss the critical components. Explain how conventional building components such as exhaust fans and mechanical heating/cooling systems may be deleted from the project.
- Provide an estimated budget on the anticipated cost to meet the Passive House Standard and optional cost to pursue a Certified Passive House.
This service is an opportunity to meet with an experienced and professional Certified Passive House Designer (CPHD) to ask questions about the Passive House Standard. Akira Living’s Pre-Design Assessment cost may vary based on proximity to Vancouver, BC. Contact Cody to find out more or to obtain a Pre-Design Assessment quote for your next project.
