NEW HOUSE CONSTRUCTION
Design Development
Akira Living’s Design Development service builds onto the Schematic Design Stage Energy Model by importing the DesignPH energy model into the Passive House Planning Package (PHPP) software. This creates a more accurate energy model that will be required if pursuing Passive House Certification.
At this stage we will dive deeper into developing construction assemblies, building enclosure details, and specifying what doors and windows may be installed. Objective is to determine if your project can be an Certified Passive House.
Passive House Certification can become a selling feature! A home that benefits the inhabitants’ health and overall quality of life from day one. A home that is more comfortable, with better indoor air quality, nearly soundproof to street noise, and resilient to condensation damage. These are qualities that define a True Luxury© home, all of which are by-products of being labelled as an Certified Passive House by the Passive House Institute (PHI).
Upon approval of finalized design development architectural drawings and PHPP energy model, Akira Living can prepare a building enclosure detail package and conduct field review services during construction. The qualified Builder will refer to the building enclosure detail package as a construction guide and to form part of their construction contract.
For projects located in British Columbia, Akira Living can prepare ‘Pre-Construction’ and ‘As-Built’ Part 9 Energy Compliance Reports to the local authority.
